Step one: find the cause
Hair fall can have more than one cause, including genetics, nutrition, iron levels and hormones. Weight can play a part too, because it affects hormone balance. A doctor examines your scalp and, where needed, suggests blood tests.
Hair loss caused by the immune system attacking the follicles cannot be treated with a transplant, and the doctor will tell you if this applies to you.
