What GFC is
GFC (Growth Factor Concentrate) is a refined form of PRP. A small amount of your blood is processed to isolate a high concentration of growth factors, such as PDGF, VEGF and IGF-1, which are injected into the scalp to support follicles that are still active.
Possible side effects
Because GFC is made from your own blood, no foreign substance is involved. Your doctor reviews your medical history before treatment.
| Effect | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Mild redness | Where the scalp was treated; usually settles within a day or two |
| Slight swelling or tenderness | Short-lived; GFC typically causes less than PRP |
| Pinpoint marks | At the injection sites, hidden by the hair and fading quickly |

GFC does not regrow hair where follicles have been lost. In that case, an HST transplant is the option that restores hair.
- People with early thinning, where follicles are still active
- People whose hair fall cause has been checked and treated alongside, such as low iron or a nutritional deficiency
- People who complete the full course rather than stopping after one or two sessions
Is there a success rate?
Results vary with the cause and stage of hair loss, so a single percentage would not be honest. Your doctor reviews your scalp across the course and adjusts the plan, sometimes adding exosome therapy.*

GFC is made from your own blood. Mild, short-lived redness or swelling is possible. Your doctor checks your medical history first.
